7 Travel Friendly Tech & Comfort Hacks!
If you’re traveling during the holidays, these are some of my favorite travel hacks and gear I’ve used personally this year. I looked for the not-so-common devices that create comfort.

First off is my SnOOz Original Speaker and the SnOOz Go Speaker. Both of these fix a specific problem - if you like to sleep with white noise or a fan but you’re staying in a hotel - hotel A/Cs are loud and bothersome and keep me awake - this thing helps me actually get sleep while I’m traveling. This is how it works - you simply plug in the Original, turn it on and change the power setting to your desired noise level. The Go is rechargeable and turns on the same way. I prefer the Original - I think the sound quality is more natural and relaxing. And I get the best sleep when I put this between my bed and wherever the noise is likely going to come from - be it a window or the door to the hotel hallway. If you like that fan noise grab one of these, it’ll really help and it’s small enough to fit into a carry on easily - also this carrying case is optional.
Next is this weird little flexible rubber thing, it’s called an iFlex. Since I often just wanna watch something I downloaded on Youtube premium or Netflix during flights, this gives my phone a nice sturdy little stand instead of having to hold it the whole time. It’s very flexible so you can bend this to your desired tilt and the material really holds onto the phone and keeps it from slipping off during turbulence. The only thing I noticed with the iFlex is the thickness keeps it from fitting between some trays slots while the tray is stowed on planes, but in those cases I just put the tray down and use it on the tabletop. I bought a couple of these for friends who travel a lot for work and they love them too. There’s other colors too in case you prefer something not so pink.
Number 3 is the AirFly - for the few times that I actually want to plug into the entertainment display and watch something on the plane ride, I never want to wear those wired earbuds that the flight attendants hand out because they’re so cheap, half the time the sound quality is crap, one of the earbuds doesn’t work, and well - it’s wired and messy. So I want to use my bluetooth headphones. AirFly is a bluetooth dongle that you plug into the headphone jack, and it pairs to your earbuds to transmit the audio to your own pair of earbuds - in essense it turns those entertainment displays into bluetooth enabled displays. While some planes to have bluetooth now, this isn’t common, so the Airfly fixes this lil problem! I have the regular version but there’s also the Duo model, which lets you connect two pairs of earbuds at once like if you wanna watch a movie with your spouse.
These are two products I’ve mainly used for work. First is the Kingston Portable SSD 1TB. This is the XS2000 model, which Kingston sent out for me to check out. It’s a tiny lil SSD that can fit in your pocket and is super easy to travel yet. I did test the speeds via the USB C connection on my desktop and these were the results. I like having an external SSD for a lot of the photo and video editing work that I need to do, so keeping one of these in my travel bag helps me stay productive when I’m out of my studio.
Next are these awesomely cute and portable Nomad power adapters. these are so SMOL I can fit one of em in my zipper wallet if I wanted to. Both of these are slim but pack super fast charging. The smaller one is 35W (thats 20V 1.75A) and the bigger one is 65W, with GaN tech built in and USB C PD. The flip out prongs keep it compact and unlike some bulkier adapters, this one isn’t top heavy so it doesn’t fall out of loose plugs. The 65W one has two USB C PD ports, and if you use both at once it’ll do 45W via the left port, and 20W via the right one, or straight 65W if you’re just using one port.
The last two products aren’t tech but were recently discovered items that make my long haul flights a little more bearable.
First is this foot hammock called the Sleepy Ride. I know it sounds ridiculous, but you take this hammock and place the straps around the tray, buckling it in place and adjusting it to your desired height. I found this to be super useful for a redeye I took to Japan in October - I wanted to put my feet up in a better position than just the floor, so I used this is a way to lift my legs up and allow me to stretch and move around my feet so I could sleep better. It absolute helped with swelling too and circulation and it’s memory foam. I know it looks silly but honestly, I don’t care. If you’re kinda short like me, this gives your feet a place to rest.
This blanket is my last recommendation, it’s called the EverSnug Premium. So this is a huge blanket that folds into a zipper pouch. You can use the blanket by itself and stick a jacket or a hoodie inside the zippered pouch which can then be used as a pillow! Since the cheap thin blankets they give you in economy absolutely suck and the pillow provide no padding whatsoever, this is a much better option. Plus, I’ve had no issues carrying these on outside of my two carry-ons since it’s basically just replacing the classic neck pillow. The pouch has a carabiner and a luggage sleeve so you can rest it on top of your suitcase. This one also comes in different colors.
I love traveling. I like seeing new places and cultures and meeting new people but I can’t enjoy it if I don’t sleep well or if I get off the plane feeling like garbage, so I’ve hunted down these products to make my travel a little easier. You can’t really control flight delays but you can control at least some of your creature comforts, so that’s my goal with this roundup.
Hopefully these make your flights during the holidays a little less stressful and help you feel ready to take on the day!
