Samsung Device NEWS in 4 Minutes

These are the biggest upgrades that I’m looking forward to in Samsung’s new devices. Most of the leaks and rumors on these were correct, so we didn’t get a lot of surprises this year.

The Z Fold 5 will finally fold flat! Which means it’ll probably fit better into a pocket, and it’ll be a bit slimmer than it’s predecessor. That may also mean the crease in the screen will not be so prominent and I really hope that’s the case. The Pixel Fold by comparison has a pretty smooth crease and isn’t as noticeable as my older Fold3, so I’ll definitely be comparing the screen creases and hinge quality when my preorder arrives. Since the Fold5 won’t have a gap, it looks more premium than the older models too.

The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor is also a well needed upgrade - hopefully it helps with battery and prosumer usage.

The new SPen isn’t included but is supported.

Everything else seems pretty minor in terms of upgrades. The camera specs are the same as the Fold4, though the new processor should make for better pictures. The external display is still slim and I’ll probably favor the Pixel Fold’s display over the Fold5 due to usability. And it’s still pricey.

The Z Flip 5 is the phone I’m most intrigued by. Like the Fold5, this one also gets that upgraded hinge and no gap when folded. It’s also going to sport the new upgraded CPU. But the cover screen looks a lot more usable now, though apparently you can still only uses certain widgets for it. The cameras weren’t upgraded.

The new Galaxy Tab S9 looks really nice - AMOLED displays across the board for each size, water and dust resistance, and an included SPen that magnetically attaches on the back both ways! The new tablet looks sleek and premium. Plus they also get the new CPU. I want to get the cover case to go with the beige color tablet that I preordered but it’s not available yet. The price is up there though, so I’m really curious if once I get this in hand, I’ll feel like it’s worth that price. Apparently the SPen also gets water and dust resistance.

The Watch6 also got a few upgrades that I’m looking forward to testing. The bezels look smaller, giving you more screen real estate to work with. It also has a larger battery, an AMOLED display so should be nice and bright. And they’ll have some newer watch bands with a quick clicky attachment. That should make it tons easier to change out your watch band, which - that’s great if you like to play with colors and styles. One thing I hated with the Samsung watches is that you have to reset your watch whenever you switch phones and I switch phones a LOT so that deterred me from using the watch just for convenience sake. The new WearOS has some great looking upgrades, including not having to reset it to switch it to a new phone.

Of course, I’ll be testing each of these devices in depth once my preorders arrive. If you have questions in the meantime, leave them below. Look for my video about the best deals on these devices as I’m posting that on my channel as well.

Bye yall!

So these are the best deals you can currently get on a new Samsung device - these deals are good til August 10th and the devices ship August 11th, so you have some time to decide, but if they sell really well there’s a chance that ship date might slip - so keep that in mind.

I’m quoting unlocked deals - but you can also get great deals through carriers.

Last year’s Samsung deals were pretty terrible so I skipped their foldables for 2022, but 2023’s trade in values are very good. Usually if I can get a better deal trading in rather than selling on ebay, that’s what I’ll do so I don’t have to deal with seller fees online.

The new Galaxy Z Fold5 instantly comes with a free storage upgrade from 256 to 512 gb, or $150 off the 1 tb model. Pro tip: If you reserve a pre-order before the announcement, you’d get an additional $50 off the device through samsung.com or on the samsung app - good info for future releases. If trading in from an older phone model - you’ll get up to $1k in trade in for last year’s Samsung and Apple phones, or a Pixel Fold. Anything older ranges from $800 to $200, with $200 trade in for other phone manus, even with a cracked screen. I’m trading in my Fold3 for $800 credit.

The Galaxy Z Flip5 gets a free storage upgrade from 256 to 512. Trade in credits range from 900 - 200. My old Flip3 is banking me $700 in credit.

Now there’s a few bundle options. If you get the Flip5 you can get a Watch6 for 150. The Fold5 preorder comes with a Watch6 Classic for $200. Both phones have bundle options for the Tab S9 Ultra for $900, or the Galaxy Buds2 Pro for $50.

The Tab S9+ and Ultra by itself gets upgrades to the 512gb model, or 256 for the S9 model, and trade in values up to $650. The Watch6 comes with a free fabric band, and trade ins up to 250. If you do the bundle deals, the tablet doesn’t come with the storage upgrade and the watch doesn’t come with the freebie band. Also if you buy either of these devices on their own, they have their own respective bundle options.

If you go with Best Buy - they’re offering the free storage upgrade plus a $100 gift card, plus a 1 month xbox game pass membership. The trade in values are slightly different tho. My Flip3 will get me $600 instead of $700. My Z Fold3 would get $600 instead of $800. New gen devices from the past year still get you the full $1000 trade in though plus the gift card.

So my advice would be to check both sites if you just want to buy a new phone and see which one offers the best trade in value. If including the gift card deal from Best Buy, that retailer might come out on top vs Samsung’s own deals.

I highly recommend tracking your entire trade in to prove you sent in your trade in device. I actually record a selfie video showing me turning the device off, displaying the screen to prove it’s not cracked, and packing it up in a box with the shipping label attached in one take to prove it was included in the box - then I take that box physically to a UPS store or post office and I watch the employee scan it in and I request a receipt proving it’s in the shipping carriers hands. I’ve heard nightmare stories about trade ins so this is what I do.

I’m putting the Samsung and Best Buy links down below - they’re affiliates so buying through those links does help my channel.
